* http://i33.tinypic.com/15qp94w.png She can be very forgetful at times. She daydreams a lot and doesn’t really pay attention to her own needs. She’s very outgoing, but she often prefers others to make the first move in social situations. She doesn't like confrontation or fighting. She's fairly confident, except about the things that are linked to her past. She can be hypocritical, but she doesn’t really care that she is, as she doesn’t see it as much of a problem. She has an odd sense of humor and she never seems to know when she should be serious.
* http://i33.tinypic.com/15qp94w.png She’s not really good at anything, except making people laugh or smile. She’s been out-of-the-closet about her sexuality for years, and is the most well-known lesbian at her school. A lot of people don’t like her because of it, but that doesn’t really bother her. Most are still friendly, or just don’t pay attention to her when she’s around. Either way is fine with her.
* http://i33.tinypic.com/15qp94w.png She can be very affectionate at times, and she loves cuddling. She also likes shy girls, taking pictures, collecting things, anatomy, model airplanes, and memorabilia. She doesn’t like talking in front of large crowds, little kids, too much seriousness, stress, vulnerability, ignorant people, or religious discussions.
* http://i33.tinypic.com/15qp94w.png Her parents were on their honeymoon in Paris when her mother got pregnant with her. They ended up staying there the entire time she was pregnant until she actually had her, just living with her mother’s mother for a while. They wanted her to have been somewhere exotic at some point in her life, which is why they stayed instead of going straight back to the U.S. Unfortunately, Olivia doesn’t remember anything from when they lived in Paris, but her parents do have photos from the time.
* http://i33.tinypic.com/15qp94w.png She has one younger brother: Bernard (Brenner), age fifteen. He’s a freshman at the same school she goes to, but a hell of a lot more popular (and in a good way) than her, and more athletic. He’s a jock. She and he get along very well, considering the odd circumstances. Despite the crowd he tends to hang out with, he doesn’t actually mind her lesbianism.
* http://i33.tinypic.com/15qp94w.png She has a bit of insomnia, and while she hates taking her medicine, she’s been doing it more often just for the sake of it. She can fall asleep better with someone else in the room with her or when she has some form of security – like her baby blanket or a favorite toy from her childhood.
* http://i33.tinypic.com/15qp94w.png She’s very dependent on her parents, mostly financially. She doesn’t have a job, and she lives in a small one-bedroom apartment out on her own – which they pay for. She doesn’t have a car, because she doesn’t like to drive (mostly because she’s always afraid she’ll end up falling asleep at the wheel). As she’s a senior in high school and is therefore soon to graduate, these probably aren’t the best living circumstances. She knows she needs to work towards becoming more independent, but she always puts it off. She’s lazy like that.

How well do you know Olivia?
Well enough, I think. We dated for a year and a half. We were close back in the start of the relationship, more like best friends than anything else, but… That didn’t last very long. Everything started to fall apart after a while.
    Why’s that?
Eh, I don’t really want to talk about it.
Okay. So, what would you say is Olivia’s best trait?
Her sense of caring. She’s very considerate of other people’s feelings, all the time. But she doesn’t pay enough attention to her own.
    What’s her worst trait?
Um, I don’t know… She doesn’t stand up for herself a lot of the time, so I guess that. Or she just ignores what people are saying, never does anything about it.
Would you say she’s a good person?
    Yes.

What happened the first time you met Olivia?
She’d just walked into the girl’s locker room with another girl – holding hands, mind you. Pretty much every other girl in the room turned their attention to those two.
    What happened after that?
Olivia and her girlfriend ignored them, I think, or they tried to. They started undressing so they could change into their gym clothes, and the other girl – Callie? – had this hickey on her neck, right? Yeah. People saw it.
    How did they react?
They started talking about it. Most of the girls in there were probably straight, except for me and this one other girl, so obviously that didn’t go very well. They started kind of making fun of them, and it upset Callie, I think. Everyone started spreading rumors about the two after that, acting like they were aliens from outer space or something. As if everyone didn’t already know Olivia was a lesbian, but that Callie girl… I think we were all equally surprised with her.
What is your personal opinion of Olivia?
She’s nice. She’s kind of weird and has this awkward sense of humor, but she’s still really nice. Pretty. She doesn’t judge, you know? I mean, I’m sure she hates a lot of people. She’s been out of the closet for a long time and people have always made fun of her, but she doesn’t pounce on the opportunity to tear someone down like most of the girls in the locker room had done to her and Callie. She keeps to herself, most of the time.

    Are you and Olivia friends?
Olivia?! Olivia Harper, you mean, right? Oh God, hell no! Not anymore. We used to be sort-of friends, back before she came “out of the closet.” That dyke, ugh, she’s so gross. I can’t believe they let her in the girl’s locker room. She should be with the guys, since she’s practically one of them.
What did you do when you found out about Olivia’s sexuality?
I dropped her like a sack of potatoes, what do you think I did?! She’s not as low as you can get on the social chain, but she’s still pretty low… I would never want to be seen talking to her, unless it was to make fun of her! She can be fun sometimes, though, I guess. I mean, she just has a really great sense of humor. But she’s still a dyke...
Why is her sexuality such a big deal to you?
The popular crowd has a way of ruining your life. If you get caught talking to Olivia or another lesbian, if you’re a girl and you’re actually being nice, they don’t bother to ask questions; they just automatically assume you’re gay too. And even if you’re not, they spread it around that you are. They make all sorts of shit up. I don’t want to end up being one of the people that they do that to. Honestly, I don’t really care… She’s not one of those slutty lesbians who hit on every girl she sees. I know her well enough from when we used to be friends to know that.
If you could still be friends with Olivia and didn’t have to worry about people talking, would you?
    Maybe, I don’t know.
