full name nola maya everett
age nineteen, born october 2nd
born in / lives in aberdeen, idaho
sexuality she's a lesbian, and comfortably so, to note. while she'll be open about it if people ask, she doesn't like to flaunt her sexuality.
body type 5'6", 130 lbs. average or "just right," in her opinion. she still has a bit of baby fat to her in some places, but that’s never bothered her before. she isn't very fit, so she tries to eat healthy to make up for this.
hair blackish-brown hair, short, about to the base of her neck in the back. shaggy, but with fine, wispy ends. she wears it in an almost permanent, somewhat neater version of a bedhead look.
eyes pale blue, like fresh, clear water
body mods ears pierced multiple times. she has the words "the moon lies in the lining of your skin" tattooed down her right side in soft, fluttery, delicate script.

mother: leann everett
father: anthony - tony - everett
siblings: christian everett, 16

other: daniel everett, uncle

her parents travel a lot. it had always been a dream of theirs, something they'd planned to do even when they were “just friends.” however, when leann got pregnant with nola, their plans got put off for a while. at first, they liked raising kids together more than they thought they would have - so they had another one, this being christian. but as the two children got older, it became more of a hassle, and they started looking for an escape, a way out of the mess they'd gotten themselves into. (to say the least, responsibility had never been their strong point.)

so around nola's tenth birthday, they split. just like that. they said it was only to go on a short vacation, but they never ended up coming back. the two kids were placed in the care of their father's brother, daniel everett - legally - and have been there ever since. even though they know they most likely won't be coming back, nola and her brother still wait for their parent's return some day. they don't doubt that they loved them, but daniel has helped them to realize how incredibly selfish the two truly were. nola has gotten over it easier than her brother.

she likes to paint. she has her driver's license, but she prefers to walk or ride her bike because it keeps her in shape - as much as she'll ever be. she's a healthy eater, although not extremely so. she likes cleanliness and although she isn't ocd or anything like that, she's very organized and will pitch a fit if someone messes with the way she puts things. she's very protective of her little brother. she's caring and sympathetic, but not completely susceptible to the way other people feel. she keeps to herself, but she isn't shy - just not much of a social butterfly either, though.

her mother was raised pentecostal and her father lutheran, but she grew up in a strictly secular household. secularism is the belief that life’s questions can be answered apart from religious belief. nola personally believes in the more scientific explanation of how the world/universe was created and how humans came about evolving from apes and whatnot, but she doesn’t preach it. their uncle is a more devote religious man, and though he wishes his niece and nephew were more faithful, he just lets them believe whatever they want to believe. he doesn’t intervene, seeing it as none of his business.

her curiosity tends to get the best of her a lot of times. if she wants to know something about a person, often times she won't hesitate to ask unless she feels it might be a sensitive subject. she wants to succeed in life, but she doesn't care much for money so much as she does her own personal happiness. she isn't very optimistic about her paintings, though; she's good at it and she knows it, but she doesn't believe she's quite good enough that she could make a living off her art. she's okay with this, honestly - it's always been more of a hobby, anyway.

currently, she works at a small coffee shop, sometimes baby-sitting for neighbors and family members as well. she graduated from high school at age eighteen, and has been working on getting into college, but it hasn't been going too well. she doesn't know what she wants to do with her life yet. she'd always been a bit lost on that. however, as much as she hates it, she isn't so careless about college that she wouldn't go at all. she at least realizes that to get a decent job or develop a career, a degree could be useful if she wants to get by alright.

she's a bit tomboyish in nature. she doesn't care much for what other people think of her, but she can be touchy about some things - such as family-related stuff. however, she's very natural in the way she acts, always completely herself, never an illusion or a cover-up. she tries to be honest and she tries to make other people feel comfortable so that they might open up to her, but tends to freak out when others offer her the same chance to do so. she's generally closed off. to say the least, there aren't a lot of people she trusts very easily or can open up to, to begin with. her brother is the closest friend she has.

in school, she got along pretty well. she wasn't extremely popular, but she wasn't completely unnoticed either. she hung out with a lot of people that had similar interests as her, tending to stick to what she knew, so a bunch of her friends came from the theater, art, or music department at her school. she got okay grades for the most part. she was barely passing at first, but she managed to pull them up over time. her best subjects were art and english related. because she hung out with the theater crowd, she's more socially experienced than she would have been otherwise, but that isn't to say that she can get along with everyone.

when things bother her, she tends to ignore them. she looks for an escape. painting is usually her main escape. sometimes she will also just draw, listen to music, watch movies, or something to that effect. she also likes to play video games and dance - she loves DDR. in short, she can be described as kind of dorky, but it's never bothered her. she's perfectly okay with what type of person she has turned out to be. her biggest flaw is probably the insane stubbornness that she harbors. her best would have to be how she stands up for herself and other people, rather than letting someone walk all over her or her friends.
