She loves animals and dancing and
photography, even though she doesn't actually know how to dance and hardly understands how to use a camera properly. She has an older brother named
Zane who is 26, a journalist/reporter with two kids and a wife of his own. Her parents are divorced as of seven years ago, she hardly sees her dad,
but that's probably for the best since he's not exactly the most stable person in the world. Her mother remarried last year to Mark Sullivan, a lame
veterinarian and sports fanatic.
His son, Darren, is the best friend Coy has
ever had, even with how he ignores her at school because, being popular, he doesn't want his friends to know that he actually associates with her and
is even technically related. Besides him, she fits in fairly well with all sorts of people. She's the class clown type, but not quite as
attention-seeking as most. She likes to goof around and make people happy, and claims that she is very emotionally connected to her friends -- if one
of her friends isn't happy, she can't be either until she makes them feel better.
When she was fifteen (she's seventeen now),
she got into a bad relationship with an older guy on the Internet who abused her emotionally. It lasted around seven months, the last three of which
were spent with her trying to figure out how to break up with him. She had always been too scared to actually do it, though, seeing as he was her
first real relationship. She was inexperienced and naïve.
When his strange behavior got to be too
much, she finally ended the relationship. She deleted him from all instant messaging systems, but forgot to block him as well. After a short while, he
started sending her strange IMs about coming to see her and "changing her mind about not wanting him." It was at this point that she finally
informed her mother of the Internet boyfriend, and they packed up everything and left town just to be safe. Coy stopped getting on the Internet and
changed her cell number. She's still paranoid about him to this day, even though she knows he wouldn't be able to find her now unless he tried hard
enough.
Her sense of style is mostly made up of her
signature black leather jacket with the soft hood that extends a little past mid-thigh, tattered jeans with writing all over them, and another
lightweight hoodie beneath the first jacket. She dresses in layers, even in the summer months because she doesn't like heat but also doesn't like to
be exposed. She never, ever wears flip flops or shorts or skimpy tee shirts out in public, but will when she's at home because she's more
comfortable there.
She has a labret piercing and a monarch
butterfly tattoo on the back of her right shoulder. Her eyes are dark, her skin is pale, and she's dyed her hair so many times in the past few years
that she honestly can't remember what her natural hair color is anymore. She stands at around 5'6", slender but not extremely underweight. She's
been a mild vegetarian since she first figured out that meat came from animals that are slaughtered, but she eats more fruits than she does
vegetables.
She's obsessed with old wind-up cameras
(specifically Yashica models) and collects a lot of them -- broken or functional -- as well as the many different kinds of appliances that work with
them. Despite her deep interest in photography and art, Coy aspires to be a pastry chef. She has incredibly high expectations for herself which are
fueled by the desire to succeed in everything she does in life while being happy at the same time.
